<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I am having so much fun with this! You can create and print invitations for Weddings, Birthday Parties, Baby Showers and more. Make your own Holiday cards, calendars and of course...scrapbooks :) I haven't even gotten into the video and audio features yet, but you can send a virtual scrapbook or album to your family and friends complete with video, music and so much more! Personally I'm excited about the calendar feature and will be printing off my own personal custom calendar. Since you can make the image any size I plan on using it when I revamp my blog, making a custom banner for my blog, my Etsy shop and more..the possibilities are endless! I know right? Pretty amazing, and anyone who knows me will be surprised I'm using a <a href="http://www.mymemories.com/" target="_blank">digital scrapbooking software</a>. I'm surprised too, but it does so much more! I know I will be using it a lot in the future. And if you're like me, you don't have time to learn new software, but trust me it's very user friendly, you'll pick it up in a few minutes. It also works on a MAC :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Rules to be entered in the give away (it's super easy):</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">1. Hop on over to <a href="http://www.mymemories.com/" target="_blank">http://www.mymemories.com/</a> , have a look around. Then come back here and leave me a comment letting me know which one of the Templates or Digital Scrapbooking Kits was your favorite.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2. You must have some way for me to contact you if you are the winner. Either have your email in your blog profile or leave it in the comment. </span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><strike>Winner will be picked by random drawing next Wednesday night at 9pm eastern time (June 6th). </strike><span style="color: red;">Winner chosen, giveaway now closed thank you!*</span></span><br />

I've finally put together another method for making realistic "glass like" eyes for your dolls and clay sculptures. I'm sure I missed covering some of the things from the first tutorial, so be sure to refer that post for more details <a href="http://mistymooncreations.blogspot.com/2010/10/glass-eyes-for-your-dolls-tutorial.html">http://mistymooncreations.blogspot.com/2010/10/glass-eyes-for-your-dolls-tutorial.html</a><br />
<br />
I am just tickled that the first eye tutorial is THE most visited post on my blog! I've loved seeing the eyes you've made using it, so many talented artists around the world. *Waving at all my visitors from the BJD and Pullips forums* I've read quite a few mentions "but it's in English"..don't forget to use the translator on my blog ;)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvLuEXA5MSwcBYLuFKbMHISvsfLRZFo0xS7wixJROCSrqLGPXPGWq5USHCzM2FD8JmRkHSZKkRnvDKJu3ii4gTj8fyqB4RKyWJIOg4qMq75RkpVn4tZHCFHrBxSXZfK-lVHUlsS0HAVUI/s1600/translator.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvLuEXA5MSwcBYLuFKbMHISvsfLRZFo0xS7wixJROCSrqLGPXPGWq5USHCzM2FD8JmRkHSZKkRnvDKJu3ii4gTj8fyqB4RKyWJIOg4qMq75RkpVn4tZHCFHrBxSXZfK-lVHUlsS0HAVUI/s320/translator.jpg" width="264" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll try to keep this one shorter, it's mainly just some updates in technique to make my life easier and I hope it will give you another option and new ideas. Some of the biggest changes were:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- Instead of Liquid Fimo Gel I now use Gel Du Soleil UV Resin (credit: Thanks to <a href="http://marinasdolls.blogspot.com/2010/12/making-ooak-glass-like-doll-eyes.html" target="_blank">Marina's Eye Tutorial</a> , more ideas here!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
- I found plastic/Saran wrap to be MUCH easier and faster to work with than the baby powder or corn starch to keep tools from sticking.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I LOVE the Gel Du Soleil UV Resin, it is a one part resin, so no mixing two parts together (creating more air bubbles). It can also be baked. I've baked the eyes I made with this method in my clay sculptures multiple times for 30 minutes at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. (I'm not sure about using the heat gun on them, I haven't been brave enough to try it since the temperature can't be regulated) They do not melt, they don't turn yellow, and they don't get cloudy. Simply wipe off any raw clay that has gotten on the resin while sculpting with a dry cloth or brush before baking. One warning: Do NOT use Sculpey Smoothing oil on the cured resin, it WILL make them dull and cloudy. This is the only resin that I know of that can be baked at the temperatures required for curing the clay. I've heard of people using the clear resin that is used on fake finger nails. Even the best nail resin can yellow, that is why people who use tanning beds apply a UV protection polish. That's all I'll say about that ;) I put my Gel du Soleil eyes outside for a week and no yellowing. If you are making them for BJDs or Air Dry clay dolls that don't need to be baked, I'm sure there are other resin options out there if you can't find Gel Du Soleil. I buy mine here <a href="http://www.artbeads.com/glaze002.html">http://www.artbeads.com/glaze002.html</a> . It is the cheapest I've found if you buy 3 or more bottles. They also sell a large bottle, but honestly I'm still on my first tiny bottle after making a TON of eyes and experiments. Oh..and use in a well ventilated area..this stuff smells! Ok so here we go!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9GyziPpiP77eXD74L2eiVgvG5KiluW8edHLNqrWt2yWqDxEZXezPNdhxs65RJ5y2Q6n5qq1KnyWm5SWyCfUHTEM0cuLqMnLtqWnCiwYr63aYqCHwU1aP5we9mW3vZHTVfYrEL9XWgwX0/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9GyziPpiP77eXD74L2eiVgvG5KiluW8edHLNqrWt2yWqDxEZXezPNdhxs65RJ5y2Q6n5qq1KnyWm5SWyCfUHTEM0cuLqMnLtqWnCiwYr63aYqCHwU1aP5we9mW3vZHTVfYrEL9XWgwX0/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I use a clay extruder to make noodles. The size of the noodle will be the size of the iris. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDsosGex0cStvzoweHKrbEl1F344nZPRyZm4NdXtdwxnUbMSkQ_3CHB2EHq9cYa-KG6wXa8cMkuWjqVuRUXMeJgFF12y47Ektuwr5Url_-NOy1YtkY28W2DkgJkuxUXXFM06kTPuoV9ak/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDsosGex0cStvzoweHKrbEl1F344nZPRyZm4NdXtdwxnUbMSkQ_3CHB2EHq9cYa-KG6wXa8cMkuWjqVuRUXMeJgFF12y47Ektuwr5Url_-NOy1YtkY28W2DkgJkuxUXXFM06kTPuoV9ak/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Measure the hole in your extruder disk. This one is 3mm so it will be used to make a 6mm eye. I use half the total measurement. IE: 4mm Iris for 8mm total eye width, 5mm Iris for 10mm eye etc.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZ4Sj-yevHwbqEuhLzaDazBto01OyGHqJdl8Gb-GCFSm9Kscx4JpraItt-YzB0at8kxQbOSxw67IBfUgIups5Uci5rU8tjX21ceSn0XNY0X2Ye_M6Ovp9IuEPbqKRMSTips5fhcDpSQw/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyZ4Sj-yevHwbqEuhLzaDazBto01OyGHqJdl8Gb-GCFSm9Kscx4JpraItt-YzB0at8kxQbOSxw67IBfUgIups5Uci5rU8tjX21ceSn0XNY0X2Ye_M6Ovp9IuEPbqKRMSTips5fhcDpSQw/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you don't have a clay extruder, you can use a flat piece of glass or plastic. Put stacks of playing cards or tiles etc, anything you have that is the thickness you want the noodle to be, at each end of the flat surface. Place the clay in the center and roll it out, keeping the glass, plastic etc. parallel to the work surface. You want the noodle to be an even thickness.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_LFyhyphenhyphenj3ThvBN5XfcJCNqgxNwWpeYoe8P-eLmrSu-G-xsDsgrVWRAS2cAqvopEhFoifS01ds3N23sGF82tI31slW9lOZpz3zo1yi9kUikypv6X_9ZIu-N8iIhiSMHvtggtu24uR9W6h8/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_LFyhyphenhyphenj3ThvBN5XfcJCNqgxNwWpeYoe8P-eLmrSu-G-xsDsgrVWRAS2cAqvopEhFoifS01ds3N23sGF82tI31slW9lOZpz3zo1yi9kUikypv6X_9ZIu-N8iIhiSMHvtggtu24uR9W6h8/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+5.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now I bake the clay noodles. I place them in an oven safe dish with a layer of Polyfil, covered with a piece of thin cloth. This prevents any flat spots. Once they have baked, (for the type of clay I'm using I baked 15 mins at 275 degrees F) I lower the temp to 200 to keep them hot. In the next step we will be slicing the noodles, and they are much easier to slice when they are hot. You will be able to tell when they cool down too much, they lose their "rubbery" feel and your blade snaps down harder, making ruff edges on the slices. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1lk4rHn1Y-QY_pVHE51I9u1BMu3r6MqUeEkkFqKA2F0_44LuUP7-oO8r7W-KnFoGGXsK3l6t-pEIGPx-O9UoHZYp8lLZjDjzzquub6aVmAsqNdXiaxvU7GGmjXPrSHbYwgTeSJV24zCo/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1lk4rHn1Y-QY_pVHE51I9u1BMu3r6MqUeEkkFqKA2F0_44LuUP7-oO8r7W-KnFoGGXsK3l6t-pEIGPx-O9UoHZYp8lLZjDjzzquub6aVmAsqNdXiaxvU7GGmjXPrSHbYwgTeSJV24zCo/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is my slicing blade, nothing fancy, just a pack of blades from the hardware store. I put tape on the dull side so I know which side to grab when I pick it up ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvbxAJGAThH3xobUfxc8oD4sj2jtnKHOAVaTt2WFvHzS_11hn84qLVP0H4CV4hqOoHhNSI28XSIEkIO4mwCwoExql6CvCDKAguZ5g1keEdR90VpZx7wZoVxqLQDMQjDLlqRgYs-TtUcrA/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvbxAJGAThH3xobUfxc8oD4sj2jtnKHOAVaTt2WFvHzS_11hn84qLVP0H4CV4hqOoHhNSI28XSIEkIO4mwCwoExql6CvCDKAguZ5g1keEdR90VpZx7wZoVxqLQDMQjDLlqRgYs-TtUcrA/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now start slicing thin dots from the noodles. I can get about half way through cutting a noodle this size before it cools down too much, then I just toss it back into the oven and grab another piece. I find it easier to place one side of the blade on the tile, using it as a pivot point. Also if you look straight down from above it helps to get nice flat slices. You can discard the ends or any spots with air bubbles (you'll hear them when using a clay extruder).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC-duCeB9wXY3WtAddjyDLZTFMCVqcNW_86h-8pMaD-duIPsWDwJl6k5tG9Ei9s7N-CIg_nePM8Gw4nahQ_wNxunJXf8nIMG2EoGeFlgSuiCEc4L7-QuTRyFN_dqejmQhEFc0eZSul4go/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgC-duCeB9wXY3WtAddjyDLZTFMCVqcNW_86h-8pMaD-duIPsWDwJl6k5tG9Ei9s7N-CIg_nePM8Gw4nahQ_wNxunJXf8nIMG2EoGeFlgSuiCEc4L7-QuTRyFN_dqejmQhEFc0eZSul4go/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Chop chop chop until you have a bunch of iris confetti :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6iA3DKdQnNyE4-qN2G_DmTNMaagKx0xfJ_1BkvoPfH4tHzG_tKrN3SMaC_motKFyCNrISye6B67n_KtHu6wWxwpzkJmFPfq5rzxouaHMHxbt3pPDzoopPM-_I4tXCdOpAhWJK55je95E/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6iA3DKdQnNyE4-qN2G_DmTNMaagKx0xfJ_1BkvoPfH4tHzG_tKrN3SMaC_motKFyCNrISye6B67n_KtHu6wWxwpzkJmFPfq5rzxouaHMHxbt3pPDzoopPM-_I4tXCdOpAhWJK55je95E/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+8.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This part makes life a whole lot easier. Get some double stick tape (it says permanent but it's not really) and some cards, or..ahem, those little laminate counter top samples from the hardware store :)</div>

Now stick the tape to a card, and the confetti dots in pairs to the tape. Now they're ready to paint, and wont go anywhere! The above photo is from when I made my noodles out of colored clay. This is an easier route if you don't want to paint the actual eye color, just put a dot of black paint in the center for a pupil. I found I like using white, and painting the pupil first. The contrast allows me to see if the pupil is centered and the same size as it's partner. I also prefer to paint on a lighter background and build up layers of detail. Experiment and find which way works best for you. </div>

Tiny detail artist paint brushes are expensive. I buy "Nail Art Detail Brushes". The one above is a pen style. I have since found some with even shorter bristles. I got several packs cheap on ebay, size "0000" is my favorite for painting small eyes. They seem to last me just as long as the expensive one, maybe even longer. </div>

Paint: You can use craft acrylics, artist acrylics, watercolors, whatever you prefer. I was so thrilled when I found fine tip Sharpies in a rainbow of colors, but guess what..they're not quite as permanent as they claim to be. They leached into the whites of the eyes badly. Bummer! Guess I'll have to use those on another art project :)</div>

Using a paintbrush, I put a thin layer of Gel du Soleil on the irises. This seals the paint. Do be careful with green paint, and let them sit a day or two before using them in a sculpt to make sure there is no leaching. That is why this step is important. Since green is made up of blue and yellow, sometimes they separate and I've found the yellow leaching into the whites if I didn't pay extra attention in this sealing step, or I painted over the edge and didn't seal the edges. I put a couple drops of Gel du Soleil on a glazed tile and use the paintbrush to apply. Clean your brush with alcohol when done. Since it is a UV curing resin, I clean the brush immediately so my "realistic light" bulbs or Ott lights don't cure the resin. This would take hours..but better safe than sorry. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Check from the sides to make sure the iris is level, and clean up the extra clay around the edges. I use a toothpick. If you have any wrinkles in the whites from the plastic, smooth them out with a soft dry paint brush, a gentle "petting" motion works well. You can use a TINY bit of smoothing oil, just be sure to keep it on the whites and not the irises with the resin. Now bake according to your clay's instructions.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you baked on something that wont fit into your UV light (like I did!) you can pop them off the tile and place them back onto the taped card (or smaller tile, whatever you have) You can see my little laminate sample in the background :D Now we're going to add more resin to form the dome. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbMjThyphenhyphenFIeZSjzd1N9_op60MXVMrCi9LTMlRw-CEXcATIY-0snliUtbhYQ6LU_ZJ6QXq-Y2t3HBNYtYITLfjIPJBvUnqK-nWXWdNdxYB7w5Ew2c4yTApjEHkYOW9nHuOg7imTodz3KORs/s1600/realistic+doll+eyes+19.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbMjThyphenhyphenFIeZSjzd1N9_op60MXVMrCi9LTMlRw-CEXcATIY-0snliUtbhYQ6LU_ZJ6QXq-Y2t3HBNYtYITLfjIPJBvUnqK-nWXWdNdxYB7w5Ew2c4yTApjEHkYOW9nHuOg7imTodz3KORs/s320/realistic+doll+eyes+19.jpg" width="293" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Side view. I choose to only do the iris and not the entire eye. First, the resin acts like oil on water and tries to bead up or run off the sides, I kept patching the "bald spots". I tried it over Liquid Sculpey, I tried cleaning with alcohol first, no luck. So I finally decided I like this way better anyway. This allows you paint details on your finished sculpt, like shadows, veining, tear ducts, etc that would likely not want to stick if the whites were covered in resin. You can also gloss the whites after baking with a glaze, but in every photo of sculptures I've seen, the reflection is only showing on the iris, even on all glass eyes.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you end up doing a few different sizes, save your sanity and organize the irises *grin* This is from the colored noodles. I now have containers of all white in different sizes. This way I can easily see the sizes I have without worrying about having each color in each size. Have fun making realistic glass like eyes for your dolls and sculptures!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I know I've been promising a few of you a follow up to my doll eye tutorial. I WILL be posting it tomorrow yeayyy! I swear I'm surrounded by eyes, it all starts out with good intentions. Taking pictures of every step..then I realize I've finished them and forgotten to take the last half of the pictures! It's an amazing time warp that happens while creating..that "zone" where time doesn't exist and creation happens in that magical flow. I've decided this is an awake dream state of sorts, but instead of 5 minutes of dreaming feeling like 2 hours, 2 hours of creating feels like 5 minutes!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wow..I've been away from blogging a bit eh? I was a little afraid hearing of all the changes Blogger has been up to. But I must admit I quite like it! It's nice and clean and simple. Took me a minute to figure it out but I do like it much better than the old format. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So tomorrow I will get the rest of the pictures taken and organized so I can get the tutorial posted for you, thank you for your patience :) In the mean time, here's a few things I made over the holidays.</div>

I loved ballet in general, but the Nutcracker was something I looked forward to every Christmas. Especially since I got to see a live version. The dresses, the sets, the scenes and props..beautiful ballerinas that seemed to float weightlessly and glide across the stage. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">It just occurred to me that I still have no idea what the story line really is here. I'm guessing she's dreaming or something..that her bizarre toy..the nutcracker, somehow turns into a prince..or something. Then this demonic looking Mouse King comes along and he will have none of that..so they fight, Nutcracker wins and then everyone puts on a show for them as they live happily ever after..the end. That's gotta be pretty close right? That Mouse King scared the hell out of me when I was young. Now that I look at him again..he still does. What is going on there? I'm very thankful that I somehow missed the Mouse King with multiple heads, I would have had nightmares for months. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Creeping right along...today I'd like to introduce a couple of my favorite SPOOKTACULAR artists!<br />
<br />
If you like a lot of creepy in your Creepmas you will love this <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zombie-Santa-Art-Doll-Scary-Funny-Horror-Bloody-Ooak-ADSG-OGLD-DMA-/270865738867?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f10db2c73#ht_8247wt_883" target="_blank">Zombie Santa Art Doll by TheRogueFairy</a><br />
Isn't he just spooktacular!?! This one was my favorite <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zombie-Santa-Art-Doll-Scary-Funny-Horror-Bloody-Morbid-ADSG-OGLD-DMA-/270852589629?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1012883d#ht_6016wt_883" target="_blank">Evil Zombie Santa</a> he has already sold. Gives new meaning to "Lady Fingers" doesn't it? What a great imagination!<br />
<br />
Here is another favorite artist. Tattered Rags Creepy Dolls by Jodi Cain. She makes wonderful spooky rag dolls all year long. Rag dolls in straight jackets, gothic cuties and more. She's having a give away of this wonderful doll below, you have until Dec. 20th to <a href="http://zosomoto.tripod.com/GiveawayDecember2011.html" target="_blank">CLICK HERE</a> and enter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXOmyMSUbgkardUIi6AhwIrfgOJ6zSneF6NTxg58q-yYjTzZ-7t2BUAm7iPpQORp5GnacZCQqUnXbw2TAdNMiiNrkPmWKJYJ0918BIYX1sATvd_fUD0l4oKhuhrdxHyYVxNJsWArIXGIM/s320/388480_10150494320189439_307409834438_10545743_699795471_n.jpg" width="246" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

But these two just *screamed* CREEPMAS and made my heart skip a beat! *Swoon*. This is the first year for this blog event, I hope there are many more to follow! The Celebration of Creepmas is from Dec.1-13th. It is in the spirit of fun! The point is to bring Halloween into the first two weeks of December just like all the stores did in October.<br />
<br />
This is my kitten Nico. Well she's a year old now, but she's an October baby. How fitting for a spooky little black cat don't you think? I think we all share in her feelings about seeing Christmas trees being put out on display in stores in the middle of October *grin*.<br />

I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter weekend! This post is longggg over due. I best get it all posted before it is all outdated *grin*. So much to catch up on, so I finally got to taking pics and gathering the links I needed. Now the normal person might have done this in several timely posts..but..I never claimed to be normal ha!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMJhFgNp1RlgL-KESa8Q5OUF9YP06s1MATb497J1lkSYjWIQEgcM7M7gt6RX_7Sr4db1SESIs3ja_02WOnCyW5gl0F6cuLxWi2ovrY4VXNgje6N_TZFAoPFpWBn91iG5pYH1IUn_rSSww/s1600/ACEO.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMJhFgNp1RlgL-KESa8Q5OUF9YP06s1MATb497J1lkSYjWIQEgcM7M7gt6RX_7Sr4db1SESIs3ja_02WOnCyW5gl0F6cuLxWi2ovrY4VXNgje6N_TZFAoPFpWBn91iG5pYH1IUn_rSSww/s320/ACEO.JPG" width="320" /></a>First things first: The "One World One Heart" door prizes! I know a few of you wanted to see the custom ACEO I was to make along with the other goodies for the winner of my door prize Teresa over at <a href="http://ourknitalong.blogspot.com/">http://ourknitalong.blogspot.com/</a> . So I decided to challenge myself and try to draw the four family members contributing to the blog. It was a challenge because I haven't had a lot of practice doing anything resembling a real person much less four! You can see the photos I used for reference on the left hand side of her blog. Here's what I came up with, I think it turned out pretty good :)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I have also been meaning to show off all of the goodies I won on my wonderful OWOH journey! I was waiting for all of the prizes to arrive, I know some had to travel a long way in the midst of weird weather etc. I think there is one more out there in the hands of the postal service, but I couldn't wait any longer so I will post another blog when that one arrives.<br />

Cindy over at <a href="http://plantslist.blogspot.com/">http://plantslist.blogspot.com</a> chose my lucky number to win this incredible "diptych". I had never heard of this before, it's the same size as an ACEO/ATC but with two parts! A "triptych" would be three parts and so on. I love this concept of bringing 3D life to ACEO art! Pictures can't really capture all the color and texture, but it's pretty amazing.<br />

<br />
So that's it for the OWOH related stuff for now. Have you signed up for the newsletter for the next event?<br />
It looks like it is going to be just as much fun! I know I'm going to try to participate again, as this was my first year and I really enjoyed meeting all of you!<br />
<br />
Another exciting note, I was published in "Cloth Paper Scissors: Studios" Spring issue for one of my DIY organization projects. I must say that I was completely tickled to be in the same issue with Ty Pennington woohooo! I also figured it would be a little blip on a page with several other projects..but I got an entire page! So I better show this off, because it's almost time to the Summer issue to come out...yeah I procrastinate :) (Page. 27!!!)<br />

She had a few false starts..Mother Nature..a few teases of sunny days followed by cold and rain. But it was enough to wake her from her slumber. </div><div style="text-align: center;">I took this picture of this peculiar caterpillar back in November. It looked like something right out of Alice in Wonderland! I actually *heard* it before I saw it as it burrowed around moving leaves. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSSbxv87eUxVoikYhxv20iXjODa-sNcsJ09KlD5n7c0mOyRcTOZITpGsP2QWI2z2bQa8C0Og2opmsosuGx0LfkcbMb1cAZWX7TFDybvK80xHr-x0EUVZ3z55Id5cMccZ530ZKQwd0UxCM/s1600/caterpillar.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSSbxv87eUxVoikYhxv20iXjODa-sNcsJ09KlD5n7c0mOyRcTOZITpGsP2QWI2z2bQa8C0Og2opmsosuGx0LfkcbMb1cAZWX7TFDybvK80xHr-x0EUVZ3z55Id5cMccZ530ZKQwd0UxCM/s320/caterpillar.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now...I have no idea how long this caterpillar remained...a caterpillar. Thought I better pick a winner and get this posted, as I was barely into my first cup of coffee of the day, checking email and I've won a couple prizes already!(More on that at a later date) Wowwwy what a wonderful trip around the world that was! Lisa has certainly outdone herself putting this fantastic event together for 5 years. Even though this was the last year for "One World One Heart" there is something new in the works for next year. So be sure to stop by <a href="http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com/">http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com/</a> to sign up for the newsletter to be kept up to date on the next one!<br />
<br />
Wheww I can't believe how many talented imaginative people there are out there in blogland! I'm so glad I decided to participate. I learned quite a few new crafts and artistry I had never heard of before. I learned that many many artists are...cat lovers > ^. .^ < , and animal lovers in general! I learned that I am not the only one that can't settle on just one style or medium for artistic expression. I learned that blogger only allowed you to follow 300 blogs.*Humph* Now some might say..how can you possible READ 300 blogs? Apparently even Blogger doesn't think this is possible. They don't know me very well LMAO! I mean, it's not like they all post every day ya know. There's all the Doll Artists, Teddy Bear Artists, Painters, Quilters, Stitchers, Glass artists, Halloween artists both year-round and seasonal and everything in between. So yeah...I thought I was following a bunch of you, I clicked Follow, it said you were added to my feed reader, then nothin! It really threw me for a loop for..like..a day. But I'm trying to go with the flow and not let change knock my block off ha! I rearranged. I broke up with a few blogs. Some of you thought I stopped following you but really, I just moved you to Networked Blogs and I can follow you through Facebook :) Ok ok.. I'm rambling..without further ado; Out of 300 comments, 293 were "real" the rest were duplicates.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">The winner is #147 Teresa from http://ourknitalong.blogspot.com/</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">You win the eyes, heart charm, and I'm already buzzing with ideas for your personalized ATC. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
A big welcome to new followers...stay tuned...I feel another give-away coming up soon!<br />
Happy Creating!Aimee Jeffrieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04528195875082903214noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2399904124362321544.post-67134424200432770972011-01-31T15:41:00.003-05:002011-04-23T22:07:59.067-04:00One World One Heart 2011<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Hello Bloggers around the world! This is my first year participating in the "One World One Heart Blog Event". It is the 5th and final year for this event so I thought I better jump in! If you would like to learn more about this click </span><a href="http://awhimsicalbohemian.typepad.com/a_whimsical_bohemian/2010/12/annoucning-the-fifth-and-final-one-world-one-heart-event-.html"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">HERE</span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> .</span><br />

<div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Ok so a bit about me. My name is Aimee, I'm so glad you could stop by! I'm 36, me, hubby, and two cats happily live in South Carolina, USA. My passion is being creative and learning as many new artistic techniques as possible. I love working with polymer clay, air dry clays, paint, and fabric. One or all of these mediums are at my mercy for doll making, dabbling in jewelry making, or wherever my muse takes me. I've learned to never say never when it comes to art or it's mediums. I would have sworn that I would *never* try embroidery, wasn't interested. That's only because I didn't know how to do it. Once I learned, I tried it and enjoyed it, but it might not be something I choose to do often. But seldom and never aren't the same thing, so never say never! The first time I tried working with air dry clay it was a disaster, I hated it! Now that I've learned how to work with, and get it to work with me..I love it and plan on using it a lot on my dolls and art in the future. So that's me in a large nutshell :)</span></div><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">On to the door prizes! If you are new to "One World One Heart" or didn't read the link above, it is about bloggers around the world meeting and getting to know one another through each other's blogs. Each participant offers a "door prize" as a thank you for stopping by, fun right? :) Last I heard there were at least 1,000 participants! This event officially runs from Jan.31st - Feb. 17th. So I thought a bit about what kind of door prize to offer. All blog events I've been in in the past were among doll makers, or people that like similar things. So what dear reader, could I possibly offer not knowing ahead of time what visitors to the event would like? Something that could span countries, ages, and interest? So since this is after all...One World One Heart...and I HEART YOU all! Or should I say EYE HEART YOU? Teehee..ok ok a way to slip my quirky sense of humor into the door prize :) Drummm rollll...</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;"><br />

Google says it's usual confirmation that it was added to my followed blogs, BUT it doesn't warn you or let you know you have reached the follow limit of 300 until you try to manually add a blog. (Christmas creations)I hope everyone had a great Holiday and are recovering accordingly ; ) I finally get to show you what I've been up to lately, now that everyone has opened all their Christmas gifts :) <br />
<br />
First up is a doll I made using <a href="http://www.blueherondolls.com/">Deanna Hogan's</a> "Under The Harvest Moon" pattern. I reduced the pattern to about 70%, making her roughly 14 inches tall. It says it is an intermediate pattern, so I wasn't sure if I could pull it off..if I had made that transition from beginner to intermediate yet. There were a couple spots I had to stare at it...turn my head sideways, stare a bit harder then ...aha! The more I got done, the more I loved this pattern and the end result. In fact...I can say I had an absolute BLAST making this doll!<br />
<br />
Here she is waiting so demurely for her clothes. (Click pics to enlarge)<br />
